Planning Board

The Town of Westfield Planning Board is comprised of nine regular members, and two alternates.

The Planning Board is responsible for the creation and adoption of the Town Master Plan. It also reviews applications for development including site plan, subdivision, and conditional use applications. 

The Planning Board also acts in an advisory capacity when new land development regulations, or when changes to existing land development regulations are proposed. Its comments are provided to the Mayor and Council in these instances, prior to any ordinance being adopted.

The Planning Board generally meets on the first Monday of the month at 7:30 pm in the Town Council Chambers. Please see the annual meeting schedule for exact dates.

All applications for the Planning Board are submitted to the Office of Planning and Zoning.

  • The Board may also meet at 7:00 p.m. on the assigned meeting dates in the Mayor's Conference Room for a work session in which the public may attend but may not participate. 

    As necessary, the Site Plan Review Committee will meet at 7:00 p.m. on the assigned dates in the Mayor’s Conference Room.

  • Applications and plans to be considered at these meetings will be on file in the office of the Secretary of the Planning Board, 959 North Avenue West, Westfield, New Jersey and may be seen Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
