Today, the Westfield Police Department currently operates under the direction of Chief of Police Christopher Battiloro, with an authorized strength of sixty-one (61) full-time, regular sworn law enforcement officers and a civilian staff of twenty-one (21) persons, who perform specialized functions in support of its fundamental mission – which is to protect life and property, enforce the law in a fair and impartial manner, and preserve the peace order, and safety of the community it serves.  

In 2020, the Westfield Police Department responded to 33,815 calls for service.  Its 2021 operating budget is $7.34 million.
